Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship


emlyon business school seeks candidates at the level of Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship, starting in January 2021 (or earlier)

We are seeking highly motivated candidates that demonstrate excellent research potential. This research track position is open to all areas of entrepreneurship. 

Responsibilities for this position include conducting academic research and teaching. Opportunities to teach are available at the undergraduate, masters, and executive level. The teaching load will be defined on a personal basis and will depend on publication record. Fluency in English is required. French language skills are not a requirement, but candidates who wish to learn French can receive language support.

The position will be based in our Ecully campus (Lyon, France), and successful candidates will be expected to work closely with our existing team of researchers in entrepreneurship and related disciplines.


The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group embraces a number of different research approaches and methods with a keen focus on quality in research and teaching. We especially welcome applications from entrepreneurship researchers with a strong disciplinary background in entrepreneurship, organization theory or sociology, and an interest in collective actions in entrepreneurship and in quantitative methods.


Members of this group have published in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, Organization Studies, Management Science, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal or Strategic Management Journal.

  1. A PhD in Entrepreneurship or related disciplines (candidates who are close to completion are also eligible)
  2. A demonstrated potential for conducting high quality research and publishing in leading entrepreneurship journals
  3. A strong interest in teaching and a willingness to support students-entrepreneurs

  5. A team player with good communication skills
