A full-time teaching oriented position in Corporate Finance at Assistant, Associate/ Full professor level


To participate in developing its academic programs, emlyon business school is seeking highly motivated candidates who demonstrate pedagogical excellence in Corporate Finance. Applications are invited at the assistant, associate or full professor level, primary focus on teaching, beginning full-time in September 2023. in Lyon at our Écully campus, with required travels to the other French campuses (Paris, Saint-Étienne).


We are looking for candidates with good professional knowledge and networks in the financial industry to join the Accounting and Corporate Finance department. Successful candidates are expected to have a solid teaching background and to be comfortable communicating to a diverse public. Applicants with teaching interests in all areas of Corporate Finance are welcome.

The selected candidate is expected to teach in English as well as in French. Teaching opportunities will be mostly focused at the undergraduate, graduate (masters), and MBA levels. Applicants should also be ready to assume a diverse teaching load as needs potentially cover many courses within the department. Conducting communications in professional and/or academic journals is another requirement to this position.

The selected candidate will closely collaborate with our existing team of professors and researchers in the Accounting and Corporate Finance department.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications in line with their level of application:

  • PhD / doctorate degree in Finance or related area
  • Professional accreditations (CFA, SFAF, CAIA, CIIA)
  • Evidence of excellent teaching achievements at different levels (undergraduate, masters…).
  • Candidates are expected to teach in English as well as in French
  • Desire to collaborate in a collegial and dynamic research team
  • Willingness to travel among our other French campuses (Paris, St. Etienne)

The candidate will be expected to contribute to and is regularly evaluated based on three areas of activities: (1) teaching and student supervision, (2) intellectual contributions, and (3) institutional service including selection juries (e.g., administration, service in committees, representation of the school in the media or events).

The selected candidate is expected to be based in Lyon or nearby area. Emlyon has set-up a relocation policy to support the moving process.
